Inspiration Boards – Your Essential Planning Tool

wedding inspiration boad

For those of you unfamiliar with the concept, an inspiration board is a sort of collage that embodies the feeling and tone of your wedding. It is, just as the name implies, the inspiration for your wedding.  Also known as wedding story boards and mood boards, an inspiration board is basically a collage of pictures that helps you pull together color schemes, decorating ideas and other wedding details. You can show your board to your florist, baker, photographer and/or wedding coordinator to help them understand the look and feel you want your wedding to evoke.

Brides search the web, save clippings from magazines, and share ideas with friends for months sometimes years before their big day.   Your inspiration board is simply all of the ideas, and photos that inspire your wedding. Whether its your dress, cake, table settings, or flowers, its a collage of all the wedding images you love.  For a french wedding google google images for wedding in France, castle wedding and chateau wedding.

Brides have always clipped out pictures and ideas that they were attracted to and kept them in a folder or notebook, but the wedding inspiration board makes it pretty. Wedding boards are presentable to wedding vendors.  Displaying it on your office wall, for example, will undoubtedly invite suggestions from your work colleagues.

You may miss the overall effect when you get down to the nitty-gritty of every fine detail. If you include pictures of everything from food to flowers to dresses to lighting, you’ll have a better idea of what your guests will see on your wedding day, when all of a sudden they walk in and see it all put together. And, as you will know how all of your different wedding elements come together ahead of time thanks to your inspiration board, it will be fabulous on your wedding day.

A great way to collect your ideas while planning your wedding is to create an inspiration board. It can be a bulletin board, a piece of foam core, or you can create it on the computer in Photoshop or a layout program. Swatches, photos, even notes you’ve jotted down can be displayed all in one place, and changed around as you change your mind.

They can consist of dresses, bouquets, shoes, favours, placecards, receptions, programs, invitations. Create your board using pictures from magazines, websites or personal photographs. You name it, you can include it.      Scan images from wedding magazines and brochures.  Any wedding vendor you deal with will be delighted to see that you have an inspiration board.

Providing your vendors with your wedding inspiration board will allow them to understand the look you want to accomplish, and even motivate them to create unique ideas along the same theme.

You can create them easily online without any graphics programes or knowledge.

Do not be intimidated into thinking you need a fancy program like Photoshop to make an inspiration board.

Wedding inspiration boards are particularly helpful if you have selected a destination wedding with a language that you are not fluent in.  Remember pictures speak a thousand words.  Our bilingual french wedding planner says most brides having a destination wedding have an inspiration board.

Designing A Wedding Ring

Your unique wedding ring is one of the most important parts of the ceremony. Being able to design your own wedding ring can be very satisfing, but it can be difficult to know where to start! Don’t worry though, wedding rings are generally fairly easy to design.

The first thing you should do is set a strict budget. This is vitally important as it’s very difficult to start design a wedding ring when you don’t have an idea of how much you can spend. If you want a jeweller to create a unique ring for you it will probably cost more because of the extra labour cost, so make sure you take that into account.

Your wedding ring must match or complement the engagement ring. Often, choosing the same colour metal as the engagement ring is the best option. If you go for a simple band then this makes it easy to design a ring, but if you want a more complicated design with diamonds or other gems then you must make sure they don’t clash with the engagement ring as they’ll be worn on the same finger.

Next, you need to work out which gems or jewels you would like in the design of your ring. This is where you’ll have to be especially careful of cost! If you deicde on getting a diamond (which most women do), you need to work out which carat you’d like. Of course carat diamond is more desirable, but only if you can afford it.

It’s very important to check with your partner to se if they like the design before sending it to be created. This will avoid disappointment on the day, and even if your partner doesn’t like it often a few simple changes made with their advice can make all the difference. While it can be nice to give them a surprise ring, it isn’t always the most sensible idea!

Find Suitable Weight Loss Tips for Brides

You dream of your wedding day your whole life. Looking perfect is a must, and for many, that means weight loss is a major concern.

While others are thinking about booking a reception hall or hiring a photographer, weight loss never escapes the bride’s mind. You deserve to be the center of attention and to hear, “She looks amazing!” on your special day. Here are some tips to get your guests gazing in admiration.

Many of the best weight loss techniques don’t cost alot and are even free in many cases.

1. Pay attention to good nutrition.

Many brides feel like they need to lose some weight before they can fit into the dress of their dreams, but do yourself a big favor: don’t resort to depriving your body of food and nutrition.

Achieving your weight loss goals requires that you feed your body properly. Following a weight loss program like body for life can be the best path to lose weight quickly. Here are some immediate tips to keep in mind:

* Skip the soda or dessert. By cutting only 200-250 calories a day, you are on you way to weight loss.

* Eat your regular meals. When you skip meals, your body thinks its starving. So instead of saving yourself some calories, you are actually causing your body to store fat.

* Cut empty calories (like sugary desserts – opt for fruit instead if you crave sweetness).

2. Exercise is critical

Worrying about your weight is not enough. When you want a complete means to burn fat build muscle, waiting until you have spare time doesn’t always work, to move forward with assurance you need to modify your approach and make time.

Your body is not made to change that drastically in only a few days. You have to be committed to following a healthy nutrition and exercise plan if you want to lose weight for your wedding. Expecting your body to change in days is unrealistic.

* For exercise regulars, try something different. A Bride Boot Camp video can help you add the needed intensity and challenge that your body needs to get over any plateau and to reinvigorate your weight loss efforts.

* Kill two birds with one stone by taking dancing lessons. Not only will you lose weight, you will learn how to wow everyone on the dance floor at your wedding.

Here are some effective exercises:

- Anything cardio. Get your heart going.

- Lunges. These are effective for defining and tightening your thighs and butt. For even better results, add a chest press.

- Pilates and yoga are great for toning and lengthening muscles.

- Resistance bands help add intensity and difficult to cardio or strength training routines.

- Good posture can make you appear thinner. You’ll also look more confident and beautiful.

3. Weight loss blunders brides often make

* Ignoring exercise. There’s no way around it: you need to exercise in order to lose weight and keep it off. Even if you do lose weight with just diet, your muscles look slack. Exercise gives you a much more defined, toned, and sexy look.

* Wanting to turn a size 12 into a size 2. Unrealistic goals can make you miserable. You should definitely work to get into the best shape possible, but all the diet and exercise is not going to change a short, curvy frame into a long, lithe one. Instead of focusing on how you want to look, focus on how you do look and how you can make it even better.

Most importantly, start losing weight now if you want to meet your goals for your wedding! You will of course be wearing a wedding dress on the big day, so you don’t need to accomplish washboard abs, even though “six pack” washboard abs are considered a treasured goal by some, you just want to fit into your dress with room to spare!

If you want to achieve real, lasting weight loss, you don’t have to start your weight loss program the second after your fiancé proposes. The next day will do.

The Belle of the Ball

obama dance

I do think that the Americans as a rule are generally “over the top” and the Obama’s inaugural ball was no exception.
Yes Michelle Obama the new “first lady” looked stunning at the ball and it was all down to the amazing Grecian gown she was wearing which looked as though it had been designed for her wedding day!
The gown was designed by a young 26 year old up and coming Taiwanese US designer who actually sewed the dress all by himself. He lives in New York city and launched his line in 2006.
It is said that Wu received a somewhat secretive request from a mysterious “special” customer just after one of his fashion shows back in September. The dress had a bodice which is fitted, gathered skirt with organza floral appliqués and was studded with Swarovski crystals.
This young dress designer, Jason Wu was recorded as saying “The dress is soft, feminine but powerful. I wished to convey all that in a dress.” “I had an idea who it was for, but I did’nt want to think about it!”
It is said that Barack Obama was worried before the inauguration ball about his ability to dance! He was said to be worried about stepping on his wife’s toes. He need not have worried though, it all went to plan they looked the perfect couple with him in a tuxedo and white tie and his wife in her full length ivory gown.
When Barack Obama saw his wife he turned to the cheering crowd asking “First of all, how good looking is my wife?”
“At Last” was the music they chose for thei.
It seems fitting that Michelle Obama’s dress looked just like a wedding dress and to be truthful they really could not have chosen a better wedding day venue either! Lets just hope that this signifies new beginnings not only for them but for the United States as a whole.
