How much money do your need to get married abroad?
This is something that I and my wife to be were really interested in looking at, it was sort of a dream for us. There were so many of our friends that just told us it was impossible for us to afford such a thing. At first I immediately brushed the idea of getting married abroad aside for about 2 months but decided to come back to it for a few key reasons.
There were a lot of places for us to visit, so we took note of many churches and venues for possible wedding locations. There was a problem though almost all of these wedding venues including a reception for almost a hundred people afterwards was going to cost us about fifteen thousand pounds. It then dawned on me that the people who informed me about having a wedding abroad, hadn’t actually been married abroad, so what made them experts on a wedding in the Caribbean?
In the end i caved in, I just wanted to find out for myself how much these weddings were. Then it was just down to my fingers to do the typing and book us that wedding that day, everything all inclusive. There was even a price for little over 2,000 pounds. Then it occurred to me that people would have to pay for their flights to come over to our wedding, which in a way made this even better. It meant that the only people that came to your wedding would be those that really care about you, and anyway they are getting a holiday out of it! Then it was all sorted out, it would be one year later and we would be married in the Caribbean.
Weddings abroad are a choice to everyone, try not to consider them as luxury holidays, although you do get spoiled, apparently Maldives holidays are the best for honeymoons!

Top wedding destinations!
When i was looking for somewhere to have my wedding, I came across these and thought you may want to have a look. So here is a list of what the tour operators say are the best and most popular places to get married:
Barbados weddings. Barbados holidays have always been much sought after and the reasons are pretty obvious. There are the whitest sandy beaches you will ever see, and the sea is as clear as the sky. Not only this but the night life surrounding you on this island will make for a fantastic night out on your honeymoon, much romance and love. Barbados is also a remarkably cheap place to get married, the service is fantastic and the hotel quality is top notch. Some resorts will actually include the wedding in the holiday package, free of charge!
The Island of St Lucia. As for the Caribbean, we are to be looking at another island here as well. If you want a all out massive wedding and everything to be sorted out for you, the St Lucia holidays package can be modified to include; wedding coordinator, government fees, clergyman or magistrate, decorated garden or wedding site, witnesses, bridal bouquet and matching buttonhole, wedding cake and even a bottle of bubbly. St Lucia is covered in lush forest and is a truly beautiful island, not many others really compare to it, although it isn’t very cheap.
Try a wedding in Kenya, Pinewood Village is the place to be. The beaches are absolutely glorious, and can you imagine yourself (the bride) being led down to the seaside by an entourage of Maasai warriors under floral archways to the marriage dais on the shore, this wedding is completely exclusive and not a single other wedding will be taking place on the same day as yours. If you choose the Pinewood Village package you will find a massive accompaniment of goodies; A manicure and pedicure for the bride to be, a lovely wedding cake, cocktails for all the guests, a massage for both bride and groom, sparkling wine for the celebrations, a chance to have the reception at the Peponi beach and all the government fees including registrar.

Try one of these three amazing wedding destinations!
I had decided to have my wedding in Africa, but i felt as though the information i had gathered may help other people. So here is a list of what the tour operators say are the best and most popular places to get married:
Barbados weddings. Barbados holidays have always been much sought after and the reasons are pretty obvious. This place is truly stunning, everything about it, the sand and the sea are perfect, and the weather won’t let you down. Barbados comes to life at night, so your reception will be amazing, not only this, but the people are welcoming and friendly. The Barbados wedding is definitely for those that want to have an exciting honeymoon, and is also relatively cheap. The majority of all resorts where you can have your wedding abroad will include the wedding in a package!
Try the St Lucia weddings. Now for another fantastic Island in the Caribbean, this place is truly stunning.
Kenya weddings, specifically Pinewood Village. With the Indian Ocean lapping onto a stunning white beach whilst chanting Maasai warriors escort the bride through floral archways to the wedding dais on the Kenyan shore, a wedding at the four-star Pinewood Village is exclusive and personal with no other weddings taking place on the same day.
Any of these holidays are fantastic; I would recommend the Kenya wedding.
Get Married in Las Vegas, it’s becoming more and more popular!
Weddings in Las Vegas average on about one hundred and fifty thousand annually. The reasons for this number include, the themed weddings and the sheer ease of obtaining a wedding! That means there is a massive 410 weddings a day, huge amounts when you consider Gretna Green has 5000 a year. Some consider the Las Vegas wedding as “Cheesy” but they still happen in immense amounts.
Las Vegas weddings always seem to be thought of as cheesy. Getting married in Vegas is still an OK place for celebrities to get married. Celebrity weddings have been happening in Vegas for years ranging from people like Jon Bon Jovi to Mike Tyson. So if the celebrities can do it and it’s not considered cheesy, then why can’t we.
There are some big benefits to getting married in Las Vegas. First of all you don’t need to give any notice; you can just turn up and announce you want to get married. It is also very cheap, as little as $55, not bad for a wedding. One massive advantage, is that although you have had to pay for travel to get to Vegas, you already have a honeymoon location as well. Straight after you are done, then the world of Vegas is your oyster. You will even find that the stay in some of the Vegas hotels is even lower than what the wedding cost was.
Las Vegas weddings are popular all over the world, and many people fly there to get married. Although the marriage rate is going down in America it is going up in Las Vegas. So there is clear sign that it is getting more and more popular and also it is getting less cliché. You might as well head to Vegas on your next holiday, you never know you might want to pop the question and get straight in there.
If you have thought about getting married in Las Vegas then you should carry on giving it some consideration. American holidays have been becoming more popular as well as Fly Drive holidays.
Is it better to get married abroad?
This is a hard topic to really get our heads around. People have their own views on what the perfect wedding is going to be.Going abroad to have a wedding won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but in the current money situation you might find you even save a few pennies.
Let’s have a look at some of the Pros of weddings abroad. If your thinking about going somehwere tropical then there are some big thumbs up straight away. For starters the clouds aren’t likely to threaten your wedding, you can remain confident that the sun will be beaming down on you. Also and somehwhat strangley it appears that going abroad to get married could actually be cheaper than having your wedding at home. Getting married at home has so much cost attached to it now that it may be considered a good idea to spend the same amount of money or maybe a little less on going to a luxury location and enjoying your wedding there.
Obviously the best part about it is that you can start your honeymoon straight away, no extra flights because you’re already in the perfect location to have a great time. Why get married at home when you can have a luxury holiday for your wedding.
Now we can’t just look at the good parts about this, unfortunately there are some Cons. The first and probably the most important is that you might find that not all of the people you invite will be able to make it, getting the time off work or for them to get to the desired location will make it hard for some to do so.One problem that might arise is that some locations have a minimum residency policy. What this means is that you need to take up residence in the location where you are going to get married for some time. The upside of this is you get an extended holiday.
One more problem you might find is that the wedding you have abroad might not be recognised by the church at home, but if you don’t mind having a civil ceremony followed by a blessing when you get back you can overcome this pretty easily.
So what is the best decision? Church weddings just happen to be what some people want, and you have some people that just want to go away and have a different type of wedding, all in all it just matters what’s important to you. What is it that you would like to do on your special day, a Caribbean holiday in the place of your dreams, or at the church where you know you will have all of your family and friends to be with you?
